My favourite macro subject, their delicate elegance and light grace are perfectly balanced by their ferocity and effectiveness as predators, a combination that has no equal in the insect world. For dragonflies, I prefer to use tele lenses (300-400mm) eventually coupled with tubes, rather than macro lenses, because in this way the dragonfly is well isolated from the background which becomes more blurred, nearly uniform and pleasantly unobtrusive.
